My most favorite weekend breakfast !
Steaming hot Kanda Poha topped with Sev and Anaardana served with a glass of piping hot Adrak Chai. Bliss 🙂
Here is the recipe for Kanda Poha, the way I make it.
Ingredients :
2 cups Thick Poha ( washed a couple of times in drinking water and left in the strainer itself for 10 minutes)
2 medium Onions finely chopped
2 green chillies slit
1/2 inch piece ginger peeled and finely chopped
A few curry leaves washed
1 teaspoon Jeera
1/2 teaspoon Haldi
A pinch of Heeng
2 teaspoons oil
Salt and sugar to taste
For garnishing
Finely chopped coriander leaves, fresh grated coconut, pomegranate and sev
Method   :
Heat oil and add the jeera. Once jeera is golden, add the heeng.
Next, add the chillies and ginger and saute.
Add onions and saute till they change colour. Add haldi and stir.
Next, add the poha, salt and sugar and mix gently. Sprinkle a little water and cook covered for two minutes.
Switch off the flame and add the coriander leaves and coconut. Mix well.
Garnish with pomegranate and sev while serving.
