As part of our daily routine, we find that we have a little food leftover on most days. I try to make a new dish out of the leftovers for the next meal so that we do not have to carry forward the same to the next day.
One such item that is mostly leftover is cooked Rice, and generally in very small quantity.
I tried a quick no-cook (assuming that you have boiled and cooled Milk at home) Phirni using the leftover cooked Rice.
It was super delicious with minimal effort 🙂
Here goes the recipe !
Ingredients :
1 cup cooked Rice
1 cup Milk (boiled and cooled)
3/4 cup Milk powder
2 teaspoons Sugar
1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
A few strands of Saffron
Some finely slivered Almonds
Method :
Grind the Rice to a grainy paste. Add the Milk to the rice paste and mix well.
Add the Milk powder, Sugar, Saffron, Cardamom powder and mix till smooth.
Garnish with the slivered Almonds and serve chilled 🙂
