As a typical South Indian family, we are very fond of our Idlis and Dosas. I am particular about having a batch of freshly ground batter for our weekly fix of Idlis, Dosas, Uttapams and Paniyarams.
I also try various kinds of Dosas and Idlis with different combinations of millets, dals and grains. This time I tried out a healthy and easy Dosa with Lapsi (Cracked Wheat).
Lapsi is very good for health and especially beneficial for Diabetics. Hence, it works as a good and filling breakfast or dinner.
I served this with a Tomato Chutney which goes well with Dosas and is very easy to make.
Let’s move on the recipes.
Lapsi Dosa
Ingredients :
2 cups Lapsi (Cracked Wheat)
1/2 cup Urad Dal
1 tbsp Toovar Dal
1 tbsp Chana Dal
1 green chilli
Salt to taste

Method :
Wash and soak Lapsi and the Dals together for 2 hours. Grind to a smooth batter with green chilli and salt, adding water as required. Batter should be like normal Dosa batter of medium consistency.
Leave aside for a couple of hours before making Dosas. Make Dosas and serve with Tomato Chutney.
